Some major rumblings took place in Hollywood this week, and we’ve got the goods! According to sources, after numerous setbacks in production and release dates, Netflix is about to acquire the rights for the third instalment of the Cloverfield franchise from Paramount. Meryl Streep made a lot of waves this week, as she was not only nominated for a record 21st Oscar, but was also cast in the second season of the critically acclaimed HBO original, Big Little Lies. And finally, the Academy released their nominations for the 90th Academy Awards and The Shape of Water, Get Out and Lady Bird all scored big time nods!   2. Logan deserves more recognition than just best screen play. It’s not a super hero movie but an amazing action/drama.

  3. I’m rooting for Logan. I don’t consider it as a superhero movie; it was something special. It didn’t have to have Marvel or Fox plugged to its name for it to sell.

  4. It’s too bad Hugh Jackman wasn’t nominated for either Logan or The Greatest Showman. Last time he was nominated was for Les Miserables.

  5. Bladerunner 2049 should have at the very least been nominated for Best Picture/Best Director… very dissapointed in the oscar nominations this year

  6. Though I’m not sure ‘Get Out’ is Oscar worthy, it was still a solid movie. I’m just glad to see the horror, comic, and sci fi genres getting some long overdue respect. I’m tired of art house goon movies always getting nominated…
