  1. 2:18 Stain loses points for me because he almost killed Iida’s brother. And later spinoffs and chapters showed, HE was actually a hero that matched Sain standards. also it was shown he himself wasn’t the actual person who give judgement giving his backstory.
(also it makes me wonder how he would have reacted towards Uraraka’s motivation)

  2. Stain was still a serial killer, though. Saying he was justified is like me saying if I kill all desk workers it’s justified because I’m fighting capitalist corruption.

  3. The problem with Stain was he was ultimately just a hypocritical psychopath he tried to murder Tenya and his brother but they were not “fake heroes”. They didn’t seek fame or money, they were honor bound heroes.

  4. but at somepoint Scar actually fight not the state alchemists but the regime they’re living(Lust and Gluttony for self-defense at the beginning and Envy, King Bradley who is the actual Fuhrer even if the true dictator is Father but King Bradley is the one who didn’t spare Ishval, while Envy is the reason why Ishval began a war, while Father is the one who needed blood on Ishval for his purposes, and don’t actually fought him directly but for a lot of coincidences he sneaked in his underground HQ) and after all this plot, in the ending of the manga actually go back to Ishval to rebuild it as part of his path to redemption(let’s remember: he killed Nina, Shou Taker, a lot of state-alchemists, Winry’s parents who they actually saved him but he was on berserk, a lot of nameless characters and soldiers…by killing state alchemists actually almost put a temporary stop to Father’s purposes) and yeah i wrote this all thing bc your explaining i felt it’s a little incomplete

  5. Literally every villain has a “justifiable motive”. Why else would they do it?

There are exceptions such as Johan Liebert who do it just for fun.
