Love Video Games? Want to Watch some Anime? Check out these series! For this list we’re looking at Anime that are related to the world of gaming. We’re focusing strictly on video games rather than card and board games, so don’t expect the likes of Yu-Gi-Oh! and No Game No Life to appear here. You can expect shows like Log Horizon, Overlord and Sword Art Online though!

  3. I literally agreed with this list until SAO. Don’t get me wrong the first time I watched it when I originally started to watch anime I defiantly enjoyed it a lot, and it was one of my favourites, but now rewatching it about a year or two later… I realize it had many flaws that made it much less appealing.

    1. There was a massive time skip that could have had a lot of potential character building, and interesting stories. They could have had multiple arcs for laughing coffin, the Moonlit Black Cats, and his relationship with literally every single character, also they could have arcs based around various bosses, or yearly events in the game (like the santa clause one under the evergreen)

    2. The relationship between Asuna, and Kirito was very rushed

    3. Majority of the characters were very 2D (I didn’t get too attached to them because they did not get enough background).

    4. Akihiko Kayaba’s reason for trapping everyone in a video game was literally, “well why the hell not”.

To sum it up, for beginners it’s a fairly decent anime, but once you start to understand the importance of character building, and the overall development of the main character it’s quality seems to diminish. In my opinion it was just a lot of wasted potential.
