Theodore Rex was a movie intended for children it came out at a time when dinosaur and animal based characters were popular. Land of the lost 1974-76 and 2nd series Land of the lost 1991-1992. Thunder cats TV series came out in 1985, Silver Hawks 1986, Tiger Sharks shortly thereafter, Barney and friends tv series came out in 1992, Sonic the hedge hog 1993, Street Sharks 1994, Dinosaurs prime time show April 26, 1991, Street Sharks 1994. Movies Carnosaur and Jurrasic Park came out in 1993. So with success of so many animal and dinosaur based shows they came out with Theodore Rex most had been made for Children so that was approach they took. Whoopie Goldberg was reluctant to do the movie maybe they should have got an actress with a better attitude. Film only premiered in few cities in united states but was in theaters in various countries. Most of the United States only saw it on Video or TV. Whoopie Goldberg fans are not necessarily dinosaur fans so having her in it might have got negative criticism from her fans. Having a dinosaur as the Star in the movie might have made her jealous anyway.
What about Sandra Bullock?
Ben Affleck didn’t win for directing. He won for producing Argo. He’s never been nominated as director.
