Honestly I felt Vegeta’s sacrifice was more impactful than Piccolo’s… Meh whatever
There’s so many epic heroic sacrifices in Dragonball Z, but I feel it’s diminished by the fact that none of them are permanent. Even in that incredibly emotional death of Goku in Cell-saga, where it seemed so finite as people knew he couldn’t be brought back to life by the Dragon Balls anymore, was then tossed aside in the Buu-saga where he was shown to live pretty happily in the afterlife with King Kai, communicating and even coming back to Earth at a whim. Don’t get me wrong, I am glad that Goku was brought back, but I always felt if Dragon Ball ended on the Cell-saga it would have been way better, that was a proper epic conclusion to a sereies, Buu-saga just felt like studio demanding Toriyama to keep drawing to milk it.
Piccolo is actually a slug-man, have you ever watched Dragon Ball Z Abridged?
