Also grades are a very serious thing in Japan. The better your grades, the better highschool you can get into, and thus the better college you can get into. There are some jobs that won’t even look at the rest of your application once they look where you went to school. Think of the difference between Stanford and a state college, and that starts in Highschool in Japan.
Uniforms can very between schools, also some have Warm and Cold weather uniforms.

Other things you should know: Culture Festivals and they always play Dragon Quest theme when a new game of that series is out.
When you knew all of this because anime and manga.
They should do all these items in American schools; I think it would restore respect for our schools.
