It’s a genre of music that isn’t for everyone, but these albums certainly should help. Welcome to WatchMojo.com and today we’re counting down our picks for the top 10 hip hop albums for people who don’t like hip hop. Whether it’s Lauryn Hill, Chance the Rapper, Kanye West, Run DMC, Beastie Boys, Common, MIA, or plenty of others, these albums help bridge the gap between rap and other genres of music. For this list, we’re considering artists who for the most part don’t partake in a lot of hip hop’s cliches, and use elements from other genres of music to help forge an original sound.

Kanye West is the reason I hate hip hop
Horrible list…
Horrible list, if anything kid kudi should be #1.
You should do this with metal.
I love Kala, one of my favourite albums of all time and really hip-hop is
one of about 20 genres it unites. It’s the epitome of the great electronica

disco, rock, reggae, house and grime to the mix
How can not all people love Illmatic? It’s bizarre to me that some folks
think that album is bad
Luke Cage season 2 soundtrack material
the fact that you put in like 2 secs of “close your eyes (and count to
fuck)” from “Run The Jewels” at 0:19 got my expectations up way too high!
lol
