If the game is called mortal kombat but there are immortals fighting, wouldn’t that mean immortal kombat would be normal pedestrians fighting

Here’s what doesn’t make no sense at all.
If either future or present character die, both dies, okay?
So when Sonya blade killed younger kano the future kano died too. But when hanzo dies his revenant form still lives? That makes absolutely no sense at all, scorpion should have died with hanzo!
