I would’ve personally put Detroit muuuuch higher at least top 3 that game was a MASTERPIECE but I’m glad god of war is first as it should be and u know Spider-Man will be in the top 3 along with red dead in the second half list

You are correct in saying that the best part, of the best game of the year, God of War is the story, but that story is made all the better because of the games and stories that came before it in the series. Knowing where Kratos came from, the choices he made and who he used to be makes his need to be better and for his son to be better all the more palpable.
I will say that God of War is one of the best games that rivals Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time.
