These are the shows heavily inspired by other popular anime and manga. We’re not discounting how good they are but you’ve gotta admit, they do kind of copy them. Expect the likes of Duel Masters, Digimon and Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress to make this cut! And remember: Every anime borrows from pre-existing ones, so now one show is guilt free. You’ve got Super Robots following in the footsteps of Mazinger Z and Shonen series copying Dragon Ball Z. Either way, let’s look at some more obvious ones.
Which show do you think ripped off your favourite anime? Do you think these are better than their inspiration? Let us know in the comments below.

  1. To be fair to Digimon, the idea (and toy) Digimon existed before Pokemon did.

  2. Atack on titan and Kabaneri of the iron Fortress are produced by the same studio and have the same director. It’s no surprise that they have similarities.

  3. Yūki Yūna wa Yūsha de Aru is really good. Not at the level of Madoka, but it manages to explore different themes and is pretty creative in some ways. I really like it. It’s NOT a rip-off, it was just inspired by Madoka.

  4. Correct me if I’m wrong but what about Bleach? Didn’t they rip off Yu Yu Hakusho?
