  1. I’ve heard of all of these animals, including the honorable mentions. I’ve been an animal fan since I was old enough to read, and I’ve seen a fair share of crazy animals.

  2. Gigantopithecus is an extinct early cousin of the orangutan who stood 10 feet tall on average. Lore indicates he’s what King Kong evolved from, but he’s since been reinvented into a giant gorilla because he looked like one in the black and white film.
