Star Wars, horror and Netflix! These are the biggest topics in the film world this week. The newest installment in the franchise, Solo: A Star Wars Story dropped its first official trailer this week, dropping a few easter eggs and leads to the story. John Krasinski’s A Quiet Place premiered to critical acclaim and box office success, becoming the best performing original horror movie and of course, Netflix made waves when they announced that they would not be sending any of their movies to the Cannes Film Festival after they banned the streaming service from competing in competition.   2. It’s not like there’s a great number of American movies that win at that festival. Only Pulp Fiction immediately comes to mind.

  3. Excellent news about Netflix. They need to learn that they cannot get everything they want – they have to abide by the rules the same way as everyone else. Also, Netflix has rubbish content – quantity over quality.

  5. FUCK SPIELBERG! I can’t believe he would say such a greedy shitty thing about Netflix! They’ve done AMAZING with the vast majority of their originals.

    • Cody Furrow But they have an itchy trigger finger with their original programming. And Paramount dumped two movies (one good, one bad) partly due to their recent box office numbers, which was dead last among the six major studios.

  6. Meh who wants to go to a typical movie theatre and pay 15 to 20 bucks per person to see a crappy movie.
