    • Mulan, because it’s incorrect. What you’re talking about is the play made hundreds of years later, not the original folk tale.

    • Have you heard the german folktale of beauty and the beast? It’s called Bearskin. I dont know if its older than the tale you told, but it’s different than both the french and the Disney version in many ways. I actually prefer it.

Also the little mermaid tale I knew was she had to kill the prince and turned into seafoam bc she couldn’t. This version was new to me.

  1. None of them the originals were much more fun to read first, then I saw the films which seemed oh so tame for a 12 yr old.i went back to my Greek Mythologies and began my Edgar Allen Poe stories.Children don’t read enough anymore. This doesn’t help making their minds mush instead of creating a love for the written word .

  2. One very big correction. The version of Mulan is not the original tale but rather a derivative play that was made hundreds of years later. The original version of Mulan existed long before foot binding.

  3. with the new reality of disney, there is NEVER any happy endings… except the one you got at the local rub-n-tub salon.

  4. Falling out of a tower, landing on some spines but only losing your sight? I can’t figure out if this dude was lucky or unlucky
